CF-18 Hornet - Tactical demonstration of Canada's front line jet fighter. The Hornet's primary roles include air defence, training, tactical support, and air superiority.

Hawk One - Hawk One, an F-86 Sabre in the colours of the famed Golden Hawks aerobatic team, will be displayed at Abbotsford in 2009 to commemorate 100 years of powered flight in Canada. C-17 Globemaster

C-17 Globemaster - The C-17 is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo, and it can perform tactical airlift and airdrop missions. The Canadian Forces utilize four C-17s. The example performing at the show comes to us from the United States Air Force.

F-16 Fighting Falcon - The F-16 is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly manoeuvrable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. The F-16 demo team returns to Abbotsford after a one year absence.

F/A-18F Super Hornet - The F/A-18F Super Hornet has replaced the F-14 Tomcat as US Navy's top-line jet fighter aircraft. The Super Hornet is extremely maneuverable, which will be quite evident during its display. The Super Hornet returns to Abbotsford for the third consecutive year.

USAF Heritage Flight - The USAF Heritage Flight program was established in 1997 to display the evolution of United States Air Force airpower. The 2008 Heritage Flight consists of an F-16 Fighting Falcon and a WWII era P-51 Mustang.

Centennial Heritage Flight - A highlight of the show will undoubtedly be the formation display of the 2009 demo Hornet with Hawk One and a CT-114 Tutor painted in the colours of the Golden Centennaires, a team that was formed for the 1967 airshow season to commemorate Canada's Centennial. Hawk One will be flown by Astronaut Chris Hadfield in the display.

CAF Assault Demo - The 39th Canadian Brigade Group will provide an impressive ground demonstration to display the capabilities of personnel and equipment with air support provided by a pair of CF-18s.

MH-65 Dolphin - The folks from United States Coast Guard at Port Angeles, WA, are bringing back to Abbotsford their impressive Dolphin helicopter to display the Search and Rescue capabilities of both helicopter and crew.

CP-140 Aurora - The Aurora's advanced equipment, 17-hour endurance and 8000 km range makes it well suited for a wide range of operations including surveillance missions, anti-submarine warfare and monitoring Canadian territorial sovereignty.

F-15 Eagle x2 flypasts - The F-15 Eagle is an all-weather, extremely maneuverable, tactical fighter designed to permit the Air Force to gain and maintain air supremacy over the battlefield.

  T-6 Texan

T-6 Texan - Bud Granley displays his T-6 Texan, painted in the colours of the RCAF Golden Hawks.

MiG-17 Fresco - Making its aerial performance debut at Abbotsford is the MiG-17 Fresco. The MiG-17 at the Abbotsford Airshow has been restored in the markings of the Polish Air Force.

P-51 Mustang "Val Halla" - The range, speed and high altitude capabilities of the P-51 enabled Allied forces to escort bombers far deeper into enemy territory than any other fighter aircraft during WWII. This allowed the continuation and fruition of the American Bomber force's tactic of precision daylight bombing.

Fouga Magister - The Fouga Magister was a 1950s French jet trainer. Be sure to catch Bud's display as he performs a manoeuvre seldom seen in a jet aircraft; the tailslide.

A-26 Invader - The A-26 Invader first flew in 1942 and served at the end of World War II as a light attack bomber. The example at Abbotsford served in a fire fighting capacity with Air Spray until 2004 before being acquired by the Classic Aircraft Aviation Museum.

F7F Tigercat - The powerful Tigercat entered service with the US Marines in 1944 but did not see operational service in WWII. This is the second appearance at Abbotsford for the Tigercat.

P-51 Mustang "Impatient Virgin" - "Impatient Virgin" is a P-51 from the aircraft collection at Kilo-6 (Paine Field) that has a story to tell. It is an actual WWII veteran having accumulated 700 hours for the 376th North American Fighter Squadron in England between 1944-45.

T-33 Silver Star - Tom Rogers will proudly display his T-33 Silver Star at the 2009 Abbotsford Airshow. His T-33 previously served as a trainer in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Yak 11 - Bill Shepherd will display his unique Yak 11 in the warbird display. The Yak 11 entered service in the Soviet Air Force in 1946 as an advanced trainer.

Harvard MkIV - Keith McMann will fly his Harvard, in the colours of the Red Knight, as a part of the warbird display.

Harvard MkIV - Bill Findlay returns to Abbotsford for the second consecutive year in his beautifully painted Harvard in RCAF markings.

Harvard MkII - The Canadian Museum of Flight Harvard will participate in the warbird display as well as the Canadian Museum of Flight display. The Harvard MKII served as a trainer in WWII.

Canadian Museum of Flight - The Canadian Museum of Flight, located in Langley BC, will display their Harvard MkII, Tiger Moth, replica SE5 and Waco Cabin during the show. After their performance each day, the aircraft will be available for viewing in the static display.

  Kent Pietsch

Kent Pietsch - Kent Pietsch flies a comedy act in his 1942 Interstate Cadet that includes extreme manoeuvres such as an aileron falling off in mid air. In addition, Kent performs a dead stick (total power off) aerobatic routine from an altitude of 6,000 feet.

Granley Family Airshows

Granley Family Airshows - Bud and Ross Granley return to Abbotsford with their incredible dual Yak aerobatic display - Bud in the Yak 55 and Ross in the Yak 18.

Rob Holland - Rob Holland pushes the envelope in an unrivaled performance in the MX2 Aerobatic Aircraft. Rob was the 2008 World Advanced Aerobatic Champion. 2009 is his his first visit to Abbotsford.

Dan Buchanan

Dan Buchanan- Dan Buchanan returns to Abbotsford with his unique hang-gliding act called "Flying Colours". Dan's display is exciting and fun and features fireworks, stirring music and a choreographed routine that exhibits his incredible piloting skills. "Flying Colours" is sure to put a smile on the face of both the young and young at heart.
