Aerobatic Pilot Suspends Airshow Performance

Airshow performer Kent Pietsch suffered minor injuries during an accident at the Wetaskiwin Airshow on Saturday, August 4.

While Kent suffered minor injuries, the aircraft was significantly damaged and will not be in flying condition for the Abbotsford Airshow 10 – 12 August.

Initial reports indicate Kent had a minor incident causing him to force land his 1942 Interstate Cadet.

“We are so relieved to know Kent is well,” said Ron Price, Abbotsford International Airshow Society President.  “Of course we are saddened that he cannot perform. Undoubtedly, this was a difficult decision for Kent to make but his recovery is what is most important right now.”

Kent, of Minot, North Dakota, is long-standing participant of the Abbotsford International Airshow having performed with his Interstate Cadet several times over the past few years. Kent was scheduled for three distinct routines, for the 50th anniversary show weekend.
